    @SageoftheValley
Interesting to know as well. very interesting…indeed

  2. dick117 says:

@deankonstantine Yes, CO2 is necessary but since it’s at it’s highest concentration in AT LEAST 800,000 years it’s hardly scarce. It’s also causing ocean acidification if you don’t think global warming is real.

And that house is anything but “green”. All the mining and energy(fossil fuels) used to produce the steal and concrete is an enormous waste of resources and source of pollution. That’s great they’re finding some use for recycled styrofoam, but it leaches toxins also. They’re full of it.

  3. SageoftheValley says:

How much did it cost to build that house (not including the cost of labor)?

  4. thorleylt says:

    concrete isn’t that eco

Looking at videos today. I like the clip, nice job , have a look at my Home Wind Turbine videos and subscribe or friend me if you like. My patent pending system won a Green Design Contest, check it out.
    Thanks, Sam

i still dun get it..y does the styrofoam wont burn.?

  7. 1jks says:

Wont burn? Is it lava proof? I have land in the big island I hope to retire to, so yes I have a concern.

  8. wallonthefly says:

yea, thats why I said “If it matters”

cause it really didn’t… I just had a compunction to post.

The whole carbon tax thing is kind of retarded… of course, its supposed to be that way. There are the same number of trees in the US now as there were when the settlers showed up… replantation and reliance on foriegn imports. Might be something to be said about deforestation in say South America… but thats still just basically a giant carbon sink :P

    breath out, breath in…

  9. WindPowerKits says:

hi , nice video. Friends and Subscribers welcome if you want to have a look at my Home Wind/Solar Energy stuff. I won a Green Design Contest with my system on Earth Day. Have a look if you like.

there is many concepts that i learned i will use it on my green home when i build . great great video.

  11. hoganmountainlady says:

what I would like to see is someone building their home from timber on their land and it be a small home. We need to see more of this, small log home, and homes built with recycled products

  12. d1incharge says:

how are steel beams green? this is POSER city…..building green, where we semi-solar heat our hot tubs :( ………steel beams green?? 10,000sqft home for a retired couple green? I have little faith in a 200year lifespan of hay bails, how do you keep out the rodents/insects?

  13. BizzProfessional says:

Visit DesignGreenConstruction online for more information about this topic. Discusses sustainable and green construction adgendas and provides training and reference materials as well.

  14. gururajeev says:

This is an apples and oranges argument. They’re not building a mud hut here but a sophisticated construction using 21st century technology. The key is in the design, engineering and construction. If you erect buildings using “real” materials like concrete and steel without the proper design and construction, it will collapse and kill just as many (probably more) people.

  15. lovephatbooty says:

want to see what straw and mud stands up to in the real world. Look at Iran after a moderate earthquake in 05..killed 30,000 from homes built just with these material.God help you!

  16. FootinMouthDisease says:

You mean the straw bale and mudbrick wall techniques that have been used for the last couple of thousand years?

  17. CyEtv says:

Im from Mexico and we have plans in the company to start building in the near future, and this is a GREAT option, ill keep update about this to make it real.

    You have an awesome show.

  18. lehgs says:

Thank you. If we love our children and future grandchildren’s grandchildren, as the Iroquois say- up to the 7th generation- we will care about what kind of earth we leave them as well. How much do you love your children? They dont need so many plastic toys and gadgets-they would have more fun and benefit more from touching the earth, straw, dirt etc so they can learn to love the earth and not value things over their own humanity and true natural relationships.

  19. abuterb says:

A great start! VEry professional. Can’t wait to see the public’s response.
